CD Stuck in symphony

Featured Replies

HELP!!

ive got a cd stuck in my cd player, itdoesnt sound like it is ejecting.

But it still plays??

any ideas?

This isn't uncommon. Mine eventually ejected it after a week in an airport car park....

Just give it a couple of good thumps on either side and underneath and it should eventually give it up..... As said above a pretty common fault.

Cheers

Dave.

The one in my latest car did that, (i was taking it out anyway to fit my blaupunkt) just took it to the dealer and got a replacement(the cd was stuck in when i got the car)

My Symphony did the same a couple of times, the solution is to go to the last track in the CD and then press the "next" or "forward" button (I can't remember) then try to eject, try several times if it doesn't work the first time.

Do a search for more details, I learned this from an old thread in this forum.

Greetings

Edit: This is the thread

At least yours still plays, I got confused when it said 'NO CD' so i put another in. As the Cd went in I had a horrible feeling I'd left one in, which turned out to be the case. So after 4 months im still listening to Radio 1 and Gemini FM. Gonna change it one day for an ipod one then kick the cr@p out of it!!!

Kind of as above, on the odd occasion this has happened to me, I found running the CD all the way through and back to the beginning does the trick (although it can take a while if it's a long album!)

i had the same problem, best thing to do is take out the original and throw it in the nearest bin and put your own one in, dont mean to sound blunt but i think the standard cd player is rubbish to say the least.

What's so bad with it? The controls are a decent size (which is something no aftermarket stereo can claim), the sound quality is adequate considering you're in a car with all sorts of echoes inside and noises outside, it's not a scrote magnet and doesn't have a pointless animated full-colour display that makes you look one too. Frankly, short of spending several hundred for something with sat-nav built in, I don't think you could do much better. Sure, there'll be some people who'll say "it won't drive me sub, man (innit?)", but frankly I don't see the point of adding an audible warning of approaching chav-ness to my car...

HTH ;):D

well said apogee.

The only issues with the OEM are that it looks plasticy and it doesn't have a decent EQ.

PS: I still haven't got a sub.... Settled for phase changing a mid-bass at the moment.

er... to get back to the original question, if the eject button is held for 5 seconds that always works for me, HTH

If you read my earlier post i was in a bit of a pickle with two CD's stuck in my CD player. I went at it with increased gusto and have come up with an idiots guide to removing CD's which are well and truely stuck in there.

1. Try banging/playing the CD all the way through/holding eject for 5 secs and praying.

2. Get a sticky label (luggage label worked thanks to g/f 's dad).

3. Get a thin strip of metal (something like a nail file).

4. Kneel in the passengers footwell, thread half the sticky label into the CD player.

5. Insert metal strip and push the sticky label down onto the CD itself. (You shouldnt get electrocuted).

6. Gently pull the other end of the label. Hay-presto.

As i had two stuck in I then pressed eject like crazy and it spat the second CD out. My long lost NERD and some dancy cheese CD.

Basically-dont use copied CD's.

7. Feel smug for not resorting to a sledgehammer!

I've just swapped my HU's over this weekend, the Stream wouldn't give up the cd. So as the unit was hanging out i gave it a good slapping and it ejected the blighter!

I use to find that when this happened, it sometimes would only let you select track one, but letting the cd run through the tracks it would move on to the next tracks :S
