Maxidot/Columbus fault

Featured Replies

As I was driving today with the Maxidot set to the Audio display, the music briefly cut out for a split second and when it came back the Maxidot showed only the 'MFD / Factory Default' menu options before timing out and reverting to the full MFD display.

Now the up/down stalk buttons work, but holding down the Ok button does nothing, and I can't get the Maxidot to display Audio/Track/Radio Station settings at all.

The Columbus seems to still be working properly and the MFD shows the compass direction in the top left corner and switches to Nav mode when a destination is set. I tried the <>i to reboot it, but it didn't change anything.

Any suggestions? The dealer should be able to fix it under warranty if necessary, but I'd rather do it myself if it's possible.

Try pressing and holding the "up" button on the stalk for about 3 seconds. That brings up the main menue on mine & allows you to select what you want the maxidot to display!

I saw it in VWs, it is look like CAN gateway faulty. Try to disconnect vechicle battery on ~5 minutes. It will reset CAn gateway and everything should be fine. Good Luck

I thought I'd tried all button cominations :o

Holding the Up button for a few seconds *with the ignition on* got the menu up. Hopefully the fact that it dissappeared in the first place doesn't indicate a deeper fault. I was hoping this would persuade my wife to let me buy a Vag-Com too ;)

Thanks both.
