Condensation in rear light cluster

Featured Replies

I have noticed condensation in the rear light cluster. Is it one of those things or should I get it checked out?

It shouldnt be there, check around the cluster for water ingress and also make sure that the carpets and the metalwork underneath (including spare wheel well) are dry.

The cluster itself is not sealed, so any dampness in the boot will show as condensation in the cluster.

Additionally, to get rid of the condensation etc already in the rear light cluster, I'd advise placing one of those silica gel packs you quite often get in new shoes/trainers inside the cluster.

Turn the markers on on that side and leave them on overnight. The bulbs get quite warm and should dry the lamp easy.

Thanks for your help. I will check the boot out.

Hi SusanS

Is your rear window washer working ? The Pipes well known for popping off and filling the boot up with screen wash if your using the proper VAG stuff you can smell it even when your driving also check the nozzles for being blocked
