Finally bought a VRs Octavia MK1!

Featured Replies

I've been looking for along time for a VRs in a good condition with the right miles and for the right price. Finally got one and already loving it.

Only got one pic at the moment but will post some more after I've clayed and waxed it.

Its just got a few niggly problems. Any ideas on how to fix a rear washer jet, as no water comes out even though I can hear it trying. The front's work fine.

Sound systems not as good as my old Leon, the front left speaker struggles with the slightest bit of bass. Sounds like somethings vibrating in door or the speaker might have had it.

Hopefully I'll have some pictures by tomorrow.

The pipe can become disconnected to the rear wash - on the estate it can happen in the left side of the boot by the CD changer - I assume the hatch is similar. Could be that.

Take the jets off and clean them out chances are its blocked if its not blown a pipe off due to being blocked.

Correct colour! When's the remap? :D:D

The standard stereo has always been a weak area on the Mk 1. However, it sound not make a vibrating sound. Mine did that and I managed to get the speaker replaced on warranty. So sounds like a nice set up upgrade speakers should be on order!!!!

Nice car! Have you tried sticking a pin in the rear washer to clean it out?

My washer hose popped off at the reservoir initially (diagnosed by a puddle of water under the car), so i reconnected it. Then it popped off the motor in the boot lid! Which made me realise that you need to clean out the nozzle before reconnecting it!!

The hose joints don't like back pressure too much, so i manned them up with some tiny zipties.

Sound system is not the best, so you better budget for a new HU and speakers if you like your hifi.

It's an awesome car, enjoy it!

Thanks for the quick replies.

I'll have a go at that today.

Would love to upgrade the speakers but would prefer a direct replacement for size etc. I'll have to do a search on the forums for whats recommended.

I love the colour when its clean but starting to realise the downside of black! It was clayed and waxed yesterday and its already showing the dirt.

I've got some pictures of the results of claying and waxing, will be putting them on shortly.

i upgraded my sound system first off but depends on how much bass you want? Mine still looks standard with oxygen free cable throughout and infinity kappa components quality speaskers and tweeters in original housing !Also put in a kenwood headunit and ipod.

Maybe dynamat the doors as well but i will also be looking at custom stealth shelf and 6x9's for extra base as intend to keep the boot space.

The other option is a space saver sub where the disc changer sits?

Congrats on the new buy.

As above washer pipe can pop off or could be a blocked hole. Stereo is not the best. My drivers side front was rubbish on getting her, so I replaced it and all was good. I have since updated the HU and fitted a Sub, reducing the bass from the speakers.

Got any details? I removed my changer so now have a space... :)

Use the wonder wheels occasionally, make sure you protect them after cleaning.

Great Motor;)

Hi

Great looking car, black does look nice, sets the wheels off a treat.

They are truly amazing cars. Heres to many happy miles for you.
