I am planning on getting a pair of No. plates made up and was wondering if its ok to have

"www.briskoda.net" written on the bottom of them ??

Thought i'd ask first as i know it can be very frustrating if not asked first with various copyrights etc

Thankyou

They, as number plates, would be illeagal, however number plate surrounds are available from our shop BRISKODA.net - Number Plate Surround , probably cheaper than you could get them made up as a one off, and no TM infringement issues ;)

Other people have done so using the logo, I cant see why there would be a problem for you to do it.

As said though, it should be made clear that any writing on your number plate or logo's will be illegal.

as long as the numberplate uses the legal font and spacing you will be fine as it will not look suspicious, and yes you can use the website wording on the bottom if you so wish.

writing on your number plate or logo's will be illegal

So how is this gonna work with the dealer logo's etc

From the DVLA site...

The British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the followinginformation: - The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d) The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or componentsupplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.) The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to mean acompany whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number plates.) A non-reflective border and the Euro-symbol with the national identification letters areoptional additions. There shall be no other markings or material contained on the number platel l l l l

So how is this gonna work with the dealer logo's etc

Number plates must include the name and phone number and or postcode (iirc) of the supplier and no other markings other than the Union flag or GB mark at the side. Under new legislation afaik it is no longer legal to produce or supply show plates in this country, which a plate with www .Briskoda.net on it would be classed as. As Roo as mentioned if the font was small enough so as to be unreadable from a distance then the odds you would get pulled are small. hth

Beaten by Dave :)(but not sudued rofl)

As i have the site stickers i dont think i will bother with the plates:O

Also i'm sorry for opening a right can 'o' worm's

Talking of plates - they're apparently starting a crackdown here in NZ on replica plates.

Standard plates here are US size so they don't fit European cars properly. (they bought the old US machines second hand!!)

My plates are NZ replicas from Germanplates.com because GP charge about $100 shipped, whereas the official NZ supplier (there is only one) charges $399 for a Euro-shaped version of a standard plate set! They pay their supplier about $35.

as long as the numberplate uses the legal font and spacing you will be fine as it will not look suspicious, and yes you can use the website wording on the bottom if you so wish.

I see loads of what must be illegally spaced letters and numbers on plates each day not to mention illegible font designs!!
