vRS Mult-changer

Featured Replies

Forgive my ignorance but i've never had a multi-changer before.

When i play cd's on shuffle play it only picks from the disk selected. Is it possible to shuffle between all 6 disks or is this correct.

Thanks

I think that your changer is correct , it isnt possible to shuffle between disks on our changer.

My last Golf had the same multi-changer. Strangely, if it had worked it's way through every CD on shuffle it would then shuffle between tracks on different CD's.

Does anyone know if its possible to hook up a sony minidisc headunit to the 6 cd changer, also changing headunits does that break the warranty?

I think the warranty may vary from dealer to dealer, though I think most of them

will want to do warranty work as they still get paid for it!

Changing the headunit should not break the warranty - however, if something

then goes wrong with anything related to the changer/speakers that they

think is a result of the headunit being changed, they might refuse to touch it.

If something like a coilpack goes, you should be alright to get it done under

warranty.

If the headunit is fitted properly you shouldn't have any problems anyway!

Not sure about connecting up the Sony head unit to the CD changer though...

Rob.

Wouldn't have thought you could connect a Sony headunit to the changer (Panasonic). The connections are probably all different and if you did manage to get the connections right the "messaging" between them would more than probably be wrong.

However you can probably fit a Sony autochanger to a different manufacturers HU. Check the Sony Explod web site for details.

Cheers.

Adrian.

The joys of a multi-changer, eh? :D The first upgrade I did with my Fabia was to get the tape player out and stick a Kenwood single disc player in. I suppose I should have got a stacker, as my ashtray draw is currently covered with about 10 CDs that I flick between (not that I smoke anyway, so no loss there) I've also noticed that my CD player really puts serious pressure on CDs, because they start skipping and stuff fairly early. Perhaps there's some kind of anti-shock mechanism in them?? It could also be the fact that I only have Ripped CDs in my car anyway in case some thieving b**tard tries to nick 'em. They never last as long as original CDs, especially when the blanks only cost 15p each. While I think about it, is ripping CDs for a car use illegal? I thought there was some kind of "for personal use" get-out clause. I guess this doesn't apply when you don't own the originals... Doh! :nono:

Who cares , its not as tho pop/rock stars need the money anyway , they only waste it on drink drugs , better cars than we can afford and a hotel room for the night if they happen to meet Britney....

hi all in my fab vrs wen i press the number buttons wen i have a cd on it says changer and then say no disc i was just wanting to know where the standard cd changer is situated???? simon

Under the passenger seat slide the changer door towards the drivers side. Not fitted as standard so you may not have one.

When i play cd's on shuffle play it only picks from the disk selected.

On my Alpine it only picks from the disc selected if I use 'Shuffle'.

It picks from all discs if I select 'Random'.

Perhaps yours is the same?
