Heated seats - why?

Featured Replies

Found them very use full on cold winters mornings before the engine heats up and after a long shift it helps my back to relax

i have them in my fabia vrs, my gf loves them, she has them on all the time, there really nice in the winter mornings, and you can set them to a temp you want! the girls love em!

Deffo worth it, in a diesel at least, as it takes ages for the engine to heat up enough to put out sufficient heat especially in town traffic where it just doesnt have a lot of demand for the power of the engine.

Sure, you dont use them much, but yeah my ex liked the heated seats a lot.

]Dad and I are still stumped at what situation or type of person warrants or uses this 'feature'[/i'].

Is this a trick question?

Do people still exist who believe that the world ends at Dover?

Ok, here goes:

Q: "What situation"?

A: Winter in northern Europe and Scandinavia.

Q: "What type of person"?

A: Car drivers who live in northern Europe and Scandinavia.

Does that help?

There's not really much point to heated seats in my part of NZ - but down South where it gets a lot colder they'd be nice.

There was an article in the NZ paper the other week saying heated seats are killing the next generation by warming mens' balls too much!!

"Is this a trick question?"

I don't ask trick questions - wastes peoples time.

My Dad has never had, driven, used or been in a car with such a feature and as his new car has it I am asking here on his behalf to answer his question. Thank you for the replies:thumbup: - he is picking the car up tomorrow and I can explain then. It is up to him then if he uses them or not.

They are excellent. )

Thought you had ended up with third degree burns from yours:D

Mine are great....when I've got the roof off at night or on a cold sunny morning

I miss the heated seats I had in my fabia. On cold frosty mornings they are brilliant while you are waiting for the car to warm up. and as Tom said they are good for a bad back

just realised how important they are with leather seats. i just switched into a superb with full leather after my octy was mashed. got in this morning and nearly screamed they were that cold!

the heated bits soon sorted that out i can tell you!

also took a vx in today with cloth seats with heated bit. i always thought that was odd, but again it was first thing this morning and even the cloth seats are nice to have warmed up for you :)

im thinking of retro fitting heated pads into my old vx now

You big girl's blouse! :D

I have them in my Fabia. A god send in autumn and winter when it takes the engine ages to warm up to get the heaters going. Also you can have the windows down in winter (if you so desire) and still be toasty warm. :D

Ooo now theres a thought!

THe one thing i miss about my ex is the heated seats in his Astra when we were on our way home from pub / [insert other place you return from at 2am when its freezing] He hated them, I loved them, maybe its a female thing.

I am also an odd person who has to have the blowers on cold even in winter or I feel ill. But then I freeze, so heated seats used to solve that issue.

My new car has full leather seats - heated. Always thought of this as a gimmick, but when it's cold, leather is freezing! Pop the heaters on for a bit and it warms you up while you are waiting for the air heater to start working.

I don't leave them on all the time though, just long enough to get warm.

You big girl's blouse!

ahh bugger thats my big secret out now! ;)

I used to think heated seats were a waste of time until i had some! Have some in my RX8 which is full leather and believe me on a cold winter morning it is a nice feature to have!

Generally only good in convertables but as above with full leather is a good option to have.
