Shall I go for the Fabia vRS SE??

Featured Replies

Guys,

Please give me your opinions!

My current car:

Type: Fabia vRS

Year: 2006

Mileage: 17,500

Colour: Silver

Cost me: £7800

How long I have had it: Only 3 months!

What I am thinking of getting:

Type: Fabia vRS SE (one lady owner, great condition, from a Skoda dealer)

Year: 2007

Mileage: 12,500

Colour: Race Blue

Cost to change: £2500.....

My thoughts at the moment are that the limited edition SE version will have a better resale value (not sure which number it is out of 1000), has the black leather, cruise control, CD changer and 1 year extra warranty too.....but is that worth £2500 for what is essentially the same car???

Help me make up my mind! Is this a good deal?

Cheers,

depends if you can afford 2.5k at the moment, can all those extras be added for 2.5k and resale value aint the best at the moment, its only worth what someone will pay!!

if i were you, stick with what you got!

Sell your car to me, you wont need to put the full 2.5K towards my Bro-in laws lower mileage SE!!!

Seriously though mate, i'd say they're only worth what people are willing to pay for them. You can get better spec'd vRS's than the SE (xenons etc) I honestly dont think the whole 'only 1000 were made' thing adds value.

Ian:)

Stick with what you've got...

You could get your current car retrimmed with leather for £800

You could retrofit cruise control for £300 ish (probably less, ask VRStu?)

CD changer could probably be retrofitted for £300 ish as well.

Total to fit everything bar the extra year warranty: £1400

That car worth £2500 more? I don't think so... it's only a year newer?

For me it would depend on how long you planned to keep it for? for the sort of cash to change you could have a seat surgeons re-trim in leather. Cruise Control can be added to your car for around £150 iirc and you could pick up a CD changer on fleabay or even pop in a Dension link or similar (or an MFD1 for built in Satnav)

No offence to the SE drivers, but it's a run out model and I don't think it would command much more of a price premium over a standard well spec'd fabia vRS.

There is something to be said for riding round in No xxx of 1000 or whatever I would guess, but personally I would keep the exisiting one if your happy with it.

Beat you to it Fluffy, but got the prices of cruise control a bit wrong ;)

I would agree as above i only got mine cause i rearly liked the colour that was them main reason i got mine to be honest.

Plus, with a retrim, you'll get the leather door cards aswell ;) (the SE has the fabric ones)

Aye ... must type faster :)

Are the prices that far out, it's an easy enough job to do yourself then code it afterwards, I was thinking of just the parts tbh mate :)

I got my cruise control retro fitted by RAM in Wakefield for £200 including VAT and labour.

STICK with what you've got mate I would.

The Blue is sexy but, better the devil you know than the devil you dont I'd say.

No point changing it just for the colour and a years younger reg plate cos in 4 years time you might only get an extra £500 back if you part exchange the car.

So if you think logically you're wanting to spend £2500 just to have the race blue colour on a car that realistically could loose you £2000 just for the sake of having a different colour.

God this so like me to think with my head instead of heart lol orhhh sod it by the car drink beer and have fun with lots of girls !!!

Drink, feck, **** !!! lol

Cheers guys, I am sticking with my car! ;)

2k worth of mods! mmmmmm

Was gonna say stick with what you got.

I had cruise control and cd changer (dont use it) already fitted when I purchased mine.Added the leather. Was the cruise a option from the factory?

As others have said - shell out the dosh on mods and u'll have a top motor!

so the main extras on SE are what? 6 disc cd changer?leather seats?cruise control?

all of which have been supplied and fitted by skoda to my vrs - the leather seats were £1300, the cruise control was £194 and the cd changer was under £200...so youre talking £1700 ish....

if youre not really that ar$ed for the limited edition blue colour then it might be worth looking into upgrading your current vrs and saving a few hundred notes...which you could then put towards an engine remap - ay....up there for thinking, down there for controlling the gas ;)

With the current price drop on Fabia vRS's I would say keep it (The wife expects her 56 plate current company car to go for 4K)

Keep it. The SE deffo has a kind of special value as they were the last 1,000 marketed in the UK with the extras and the colour, i like them. Must do, as i flash, wave, peep at them all, but in the real world I have sunroof, ETC and don`t get nutters flashing waving and peeping at me. :)
