Hmm, am shocked to hear this as I'm only just over a big bit of estuary from "East Devon" - We had nothing like this here, plus if there were floods I'm atop a fairly big hill.

Just read it properly and it was Ottery that got hit worst - that's a good 15 miles from here but shocking images! I had to at the flooded bonfire pile though! Something kind of ironic in the preparation for something real HOT, and being surrounded by cold wet water! Ottery is famous for the annual tar barrels on bonfire night so I sure hope this is not cancelled this year.

How close? If you were on the A30 dual carriageway then you wouldn't have known about it. It was literally localised to the town itself and nowhere else. Freak weather for sure!

Yeah, it's weird. It's like the town has been SMITED FROM ON HIGH! The surrounding area shows nothing.
