This place makes me spend too much money

Featured Replies

1) I read about the benefits of Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s and splashed the cash on 2 front tyres (worth it, though)

2) I installed the under-radio storage drawer

3) I installed the cupra bushes

4) Leather retrim on Tuesday (looking forward to this one, lots of pics will follow!)

5) Getting cruise control retrofitted by Ross some time before Christmas

6) I quite fancy one of those front splitters

7) I've got a Jabbasport RARB sitting in my garage but I can't fit it because the insurance company won't cover me with it on; so I'm waiting until next year for that

within a few months i managed to end up with a maxi dot, vag bluetooth, vagcom, performance filter, upgraded headlight bulbs, color coded grill, mp3 lead, boot nets, sunblinds. only bought the car as a run a round for getting to and from work. still its a great site and i for one is glad i found it

You will spend loads. Its called 'snowball effect' i think.

What they said! I did map, colour coded milotec grille, green panel filter, PD 160 intake, lowered, new wheels, splitter, re-badge in a short time and had loads more planned! All good fun...

I remember saying "i'll only do a little to my car" ;)

............and the result of the "little" mods below :) :) :) and the list still goes on :) :) :)

I done it the best way.

Both my vRS's were ready modded. :D

Cheater ! Cheater ! Cheater ! lol

Welcome to my world, although thankfully I am kind of reaching the tail-end of my modding so during 2009 I plan to just enjoy her and show it off at as many shows, etc as possible. Spend money on the shows not the motor.

I admire the way Johnny did it, but I always want to make things in my own vision. That's probably why my car isn't worth anything to anyone except to me.

Snap!

Got the car in June, said exactly the same thing, and proceeded to do the exact opposite!

First I lowered it, debadged it, fitted my Seat wheels off my old 1.4 MPI Comfort, installed a K&N air filter, fitted aero wipers and also uprated headlamp bulbs. Fine, but lately I've gone a bit mad

I've ordered Koni FSD shocks, Eibach Pro-Kit springs (current ones are a bit jarring and bouncy), bought a stereo/dvd player, and I've got a Milotec grille being painted up, and a Milotec black mesh bumper insert sitting in the garage. Oops :dopey:

There's probably stuff I've missed (oh yes, the Silvervision indicator bulbs still to arrive) and that's not to mention the frankly ridiculous amount I've spent on waxes and cleaning products thanks to Briskoda and Detailing World :o

I'm constantly looking at wheels and 'Hmm, these are nice, how much?', and I badly want a Seat Surgeons retrim.

Fear not, you are not alone-I have it bad, and it shall hereby be known as the Briskoda Syndrome :insane:

I was fine with my first Fabia, hardly spent a thing, but then I discovered this place when I got the Elegance!

Yes, it can be an expensive hobby, but it's a good one

EDIT: Seat Splitter and a devonutopia bonnet lifter too :D

What keeps your bonnet up at the moment? :P

Oops!

And a fine job it does too

Thanks for reminding me :o

Thats true...

But the way i seen it (when i bought my Octavia vRS anyway) was..

I had 5k to spend, there were 2 Octavias i was looking at.

One black, one silver, both the same price, and both the same mileage (+/- 2k)

The black one was modded the silver one was standard, so really i saved myself the cost of the mods, as the things done to the black one, were what i would've done anyway.

Win Win. :D

Just look at my sig for the work i've done, again bearing in mind......"i'll not mod my car much!!" ;) lol....................

(and the list will be added to.........)

Totally understand mate !

If I didnt have my Furby I'd buy yours but Ive grown so attached to her i think of her as a child and just want to develop her in anyway I can.

To abandon her now would just be like cutting out my heart and feeding it to that fat pigs of society (Dealerships) ;)

I hope youres goes to a good home with lots of love.

Since when was Jason selling up !

Or are you confusing him with Shifty ? ;)

I bought this car with the intention of spending money on it ... so in my case it isn't Brisky's fault (but it's certainly helped :D)

Though tbh I haven't spent that much money on her really, but next year is set to be pricey :D
