N95 8g or N85 ?!

Featured Replies

I'm looking at getting a new phone contract, both contracts are the same amount totally apart from the 2 phones which I want to get.

One is the N95 8gb.

The other is the N85.

Another option I also have is the Sony Ericsson C905.

I'm totally lost. I don't know which one to pick.

Any advice welcome please!!!!!

Out of the choices, N85.

Or an N96 ;)

I'd go N85 over the N95 and N96. N85 has better processor than N95 and comes with the cooler, smoother UI.

N96 , although it has a mobile TV receiver thing, lacks some of the features of the N85, such as USB charging, Video editing software, and an FM transmitter, so you can listen to your MP3's from the phone on your car stereo. it also has the lush OLED display.

To point out the Processors between these are not really comparable...

although id go for a N85 because its everything the N95/96 is but smaller and with a better screen.

Or a Sammy i8510

And DVB-H (used by the N96) isn't available in the UK yet. We are using DVB-T for now.

IIRC Analogue TV uses the same frequency range as DVB-H so if you want the N96 for Digital TV, look elsewere.

:hooray: Good choice!

(IMO) :D

You'll have to let us know how the OLED screen performs compared to the TFTs.

Where you getting your N85 from Luke?

Can't find it available through anyone yet.

That's exactly where I should be getting it from.

I'll be more than happy to do a brief review :D

W00!

Just had a look on Dialaphone's web and there is some cracking deals imho!!

Ian:)

Hmmmm.... Now i'm facing the same dilema!

Was dead set on the N95 8GB but now there's a rather large spanner appeared in the works!!

I would certainly opt for the N85 over the N95 8GB.

The N85 offers a similar spec in a much more attractive package and features the OLED display which should do wonders for battery life. If only it had the N82's xenon flash

The N95 8GB is still a very good handset though

Oh god, don't start the phone debate again :(

I still don't know what to get. Considering N85, N96 mainly...like the samsung but the dust would annoy me :(

How come dialaphone is cheaper than other places? What is it? Do they do upgrades or just new contracts?

New contracts... I think they have lower prices to attract people to them... they must just absorb the small cost that they incurr by giving these discounts...

I think i'm set on the N85 now too!

Won't be upgrading till 10/3/2009 though!

Maybe something else will be out by then?!

Only problem is that orange contract doesn't include internetz. I really want internetz on my phone. How much is it to add on an orange contract?

My thought exactly!

From what I can work out it £8 for 250MB a month! Not particularly great value... paying £6.38 a month for 1gb on t-mobile.

They also offer an off-peak internet add on for £5 a month with 1gb allowance.Phil

I was looking at this the other day, there's a £35 tariff (panther 40 online) with free 250MB internetz.

Orange internet isnt all that. Very slow.

Tmobile I'm always on HSDPA (3.5G) and lightening fast. £30/month Flext35 (£200 allowence) with free unlimited internet on 18 months.

Yeh I don't really want to leave T-mobile TBH... they've been really good and I love the price plans.

But then they don't even offer the N95 8GB!

Don't really like Orange though... I used to years ago when I was on pay as you go with them but there's just something I don't like about them anymore.

Phil

They do have the 8gb. Guy in front of me in the t-mob store bought one when I got my N96 ;)

You could just go somewhere where they do all the networks and give you an unlocked handset :D

T-mob and Orange, if in branded boxes, are locked no?

Only Voda (now - not previously) and O2 are unlocked, regardless of store.
