VRS Brakes - HELP!!!!

Featured Replies

 Just renewed rear pads, had to take off both calipers to push pistons back as they were being a reight pain, all back on with OMP pads - bled system...... now have really long brake pedal, so bled again slightly better. Is there a specific order of bleeding, an using pressuised bleeder with resivior so main res has not run dry.......

Cheers

the rear pistons are meant to be wound back in using a specific tool. Haynes manual covers the order for bleeding (mine is in the car, so can't check at the moment).

I used a gunson eezibleed pressure system and did in this order:

n/s rear, o/s rear, n/s front, o/s front. Seems to be ok with firmer, shorter pedal action.

As stated the rear piston has to be wound back with a special tool, did you do this as this may be the cause of your problem.

I found the other day that by standing on the brake pedal it slowly drops to the floor, and then I applied the handbrake (still with foot on the pedal). Remove foot from pedal and then remove handbrake. This seemed to reduce the amount of travel before braking action occured. I wondered if it was part of the auto handbrake adjustment?

When you put rear callipers back on did you put the handbrake on release it then apply till the piston hits the pads and you need to do this before you bleed the system aswell.
