Another happy P-Torque customer

Featured Replies

Had my Fabia vRS remapped at P-Torque today as part of the Stage 1 group buy on seatcupra. I was going to wait until next year but the price was too good to resist.

Car went on the rollers with a decat exhaust, pd160 intake, panel filter, egr turned down and CCV Bypass system.

It made 150bhp on the standard MAP, cant remember the torque, I'll have a look after. It rolled 145bhp before so I am guessing in reality the figure is between these two (dyno lottery and all that).

Will did a diagnostic check to make sure nothing was un-toward, then loaded his own in-house software onto the car's ECU, and tweaked. He then put it back on the rolling road and it made 181bhp and 302 lb ft. Taking into account dyno lottery etc, I would say its in reality its in the mid-170s and 290s lb ft.

Very impressed with the map, holds out all the way to 4,200rpm, and now boosts to about 23psi.

The map is very progressive, unlike some others I have seen.

There is very little extra smoke, and my clutch is holding out fine (for the moment! I tend to baby it anyway - no full throttle below 2,100rpm)

I will upload a dyno graph tomorrow, and a video of my car on the dyno.

10/10 from me, fast, efficient, informative and friendly service. Well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive.

1.6 BAR peak is normal for a remapped PD130.

Dyno added :)

Ive been running 173.5bhp and 347lb-ft for 30k miles and gave it death on a KKK and were still going strong - whistling a bit tho :)

Thanks for the feedback Joel!

Pleased you are happy, enjoy the new power

practically the same figures as mine, although i only have a pd160, and green panel filter.

Observations from the graph and your comments...

Nicely controlled torque, no headline grabbers other than the 300lbft.

The DECAT/no-DECAT situation would imply that the turbo's at the limit. Otherwise, I'd expect to see a DECAT car do better at higher RPMs than a catted one.

Hey Joel,

Nice results there. From reading posts before, you probably need to invest in a new clutch if you plan on sticking with the new map. But enjoy the new power nonetheless.

I take it your Furby is a facelift 05-07 with the newer engine (asz?). I think I remember hearing that Skoda never revised the hp and performance figures to keep the insurance band low. I've done a search and came up with nought, so Decron, keep those kittens breathing for another little while. So does the ASZ engine put out 145-150 rather than the 130 quoted in Skoda literature, hence your standard map figures of 145 & 150?

Hope that doesn't classify as a thread hijack. If so, apologies.

Cheers,

V

Thought you meant the BLT engines Vista, every BLT engines car i've seen on here has made a bit more than the standard quoted figures :)

Adam K & Vista:

Yes I read about your map on here before getting this one done - how are you finding it now you've had it on the car a long time?

How is your clutch holding at the moment? Mine seems to be fine currently, I did give it some stick the other day and had a funny smell in the car?! Not sure if it was clutch though, as there was a banger of an old Jap integra thing infront. I always thought clutch had a nasty nasty smell, this was more like a freshly opened pack of Doritos's haha.

Anyway, havn't had any slip yet, I tend to baby the throttle below 2,000rpm. In any case, with this new map I find I have enough power to overtake simply by dropping a gear and using the power between 2,800rpm and 4,200rpm. The power band is lot wider now. If it does slip, I'll try the famous joshpologti de-glaze before shelling out on a new clutch.

My car is actually the pre-05 ASZ engine, not the newer (usually more powerful) BLT.

Adam K, did your car not make 165bhp rather than 181bhp? I read it on a previous post of yours http://briskoda.net/performance-torque/dyno-graph-my-p-torque-remap/100897/

This may be down to the exhaust system, possibly adding 5-10bhp? Will was saying that although the decats do have minimal effect, sometimes you can lose a bit of peak torque but gain a few BHP.

Vindaloo:

Yes it would appear that from the graph the decat has in fact done little in the way of improving horsepower. However, I had the exhaust done in two stages. The Cat-back first, and then had a decat pipe put in later. After having the cat back, the car did not feel any different, however it did make a quiet rumble when warmed up. After I went back and had the decat done, it felt a lot less restricted past 3.5k.

If I'm being brutally honest, I got the exhaust done as I missed the sporty tone I had on my previous Corsa. I absolutely love the noise of this new exhaust, pretty darn loud and burbly when flooring it, but almost non-existant when cruising.

You're right Iain and Joel, sorry about that. BLT it is.
