New VRS ....from Alfa

Featured Replies

Was looking around and think the newest VRS version is the ALFA ROMEO 147 Ducati.

I know it costs more but is far more advanced and looks like a worthy sucesser. Only 300 though!

Love It:thumbup:

Looks good, drive it out the showroom and loose 10k lol

Own it for a year and it'll be worth about 3.5k :);)

Good old Alfa's lol

Thats the problem:rofl:

Wouldnt mind an Alfa but would just prefer the 18k right now lol

Been looking at these for months and got as far as a test drive of a demo in Worcester.

LSD and 170 bhp from the GM/Fiat JTD unit is nice but I hated the gear box and the 147 is a car what just doesn't wear well. The same drivetrain and engine is also available in the Cloverleaf GT which when about a year old will probably present a really good buy if you can find one.

I th think the little MiTo may hold its value a bit better than previous Alfas and the new 1.6 Diesel looks good on paper. Similar in size to the Fabia as well. Posts elsewhere on this site from FIAT owners seem to say that FIAT Diesels are very linear in their delivery compared to a VRS: the Punto Sporting for example so may not feel as quick as a VRS. Depends how you like your power delivery I guess;)

I'd get the Fab mapped to smooth it out, most remaps are smooth on that engine these days, and IMHO improved the driveability no end to get rid of the torque spike and widen it.

Sure the extra power/torque is nice too :D

I personally like that rush of torque but each to his own!;)

I personally like no clutch slip, but each to his own
