Creaking Seat - Furby vRS

Featured Replies

When cornering hard, the driver's seat in my Furby has developed a metallic creak from below. The dealer has applied lubrication (and greasy fingerprints!) to no effect. I've tightened all nuts I can see - again to no effect. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what was the solution? Cheers.

I have the same problem, the dealer tried the same as well but it didnt work either. They have said they are going to replace the lowerpart or subframe now to try and solve the problem! hope this helps

I had the same problem and had it replaced under warranty.

It had started to do it on the new one too I noticed the morning of the crash.

Incidently I am quite a portly chap and persumed it was just that - hoping you guys are whippets that have the problem too.

i dont have a creaky seat but i am noticing that i am getting some play in the seat when braking i can feel the seat rock forward slightly and then fall back. Its only a very small movement but my passenger seat is solid but the drivers seats rocks slightly, anyone else have a similar problem

Yep noticed that before the creaking.

I had the rock, followed by the squeaking aswell. Found the squeaking went away when I raised the seat height up a touch.

Plan on replacing the base frame when were settled in the new place.

(also not to Andy, im also a portly chap, but cars should be designed with us larger chaps in mind aswell ;) )

Mine squeeks too, but I've learned to live with it! As Ross says, if you adjust the seat hight a bit, it stops it. ;)

Oh btw, I am not in any way portly. Infact I could be lost behind a lamppost! :D

Mine rocks backwards and forwards under braking and acceleration.

I'm a portly chap too lmao.

Should I take it back to the dealers (car is only 2.5 weeks old and it's done it from day 1)

Seems to be a bit of a trend starting, I too am portly and my drivers seat also rocks forward slightly under braking.

I Have Real Bad Squeaking, Side To Side Especially. Dealer Took It Out And Heard Nothing. Probably The 5 Stone Weight Diffrence.

Nightmare When Your Trying To Talk To Passengers.

Will Be Taking It Back Again.no Play In The Seat Though.

I Also Have A Knocking Noise Which Sounds Like Supsension ???

Get the dealer to check all the welds on the subframe. I had this on a second hand Mondeo for a couple of years. The day I traded it in for my Octy vRS, a weld finally gave way and the seat was all over the place. Had to pay a back street garage
