Headlight Problem

Featured Replies

I have a problem with the drivers side main beam headlight.

I noticed tonight that it wasn't working, so changed the bulb, however it is still not working. The passenger side main beam is working fine though. Can anyone suggest what the cause may be?

Either another duff bulb (it does happen) or perhaps the fuse.

Bit random to bring this back to the top but i've just had the same problem.

Bulb out the other night, warning light went on. Stole a new H7 bulb from my work this morning till I get a new set of Phillips ones, changed the bulb (drivers side so my hands now a bit worse for wear) and the blooming thing still aint working. Really silly question but where does one start looking for the fuse box and what am i looking for when i get there? Don't have the book with me so can't refer to it.

thanks muchly in advance.

Good advice from Simbo99 there (you're making a habit of it now:D)

Your ignition key fits in the slot to lever the fuse box lid off on the dash!

Try swapping the bulbs left to right before you go any further, as it is always possible that the new bulb is a duff one too:thumbup:

You are stars!

Found the fuse box, more so out of curiositys sake but twas the bulb that wasn't working - not my bulb fitting skills.

Thanks again:)

Also worth removing the light switch inside of the car and making sure the connections are good at the back of it.

Which is done by pressing the rotary bit/dail into the switch, turning it to sidelights, then pulling the unit out. Can be quite stiff, but should come.

Just beware though that if you do take the connector off it doesn't spring back inside the dash - the cable can be a bit short and if it does you'll either have a reall fiddle getting it back or will have to take some more of the dash off to get at it!

Whooooooooooaaaaaa!!!!!

Easy there tiger, This is a family forum:D

Had a similar problem but with the near side high beam not working and the blue high beam indicator on the dash not indicating. Thanks to this thread I found it was a fuse (no 23) so thanks to all who contributed to the thread and to Simbo for the link to the fuse box "map"
