Anti Theft Wheel Nut

Featured Replies

I need to get a replacement anti theft wheel nut for my VRS. Its the actual bolt that holds the wheel on thats been damaged.

I asked the dealers and they said they are coded and they're are about 10 choices of anti theft nut. The codes are three digits and go from 001 to 009 or something.

I had a look on the actual nut and the piece that goes into it and it has 06 on it. Im not convinced this is the right number and don't want to order the wrong one as they are £13.82 a time.

Anyone have an idea where I can find the 3 digit code so I can order the correct part? The dealer seems a bit clueless.

Thanks

Yeh its the three digit number that always starts 00 that you need, in your case 006 obviously, the number isn't stamped on the nut just the bolt and the dealer is correct that it goes from 001 to 009.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll get one ordered next week.

You would put your faith in locking wheelnuts that cost £14? I certainly wouldn't.

They all come off :P

as above says..get a socket 1mm smaller than the wheel nut..a hammer...and £500 locking nuts be off in 4 mins

Every dealer should have a full set of the locking wheel nut keys so its just a case of matching it up and ordering it.

I wouldn't bother with VAG locking wheel bolts. They're made of putty and if overtightened by garages/tyre depots are impossible to loosen without disintegrating, and in the process, damaging the wheel!

Has anyone rounded off the locking nut socket before? I just did. Just enough to break it. Hate these things now. More money to pay for vag parts
