New(ish) Octy - What should I ask for?

Featured Replies

Hello, everyone. I've been lurking for a while now, and learnt a lot, but I was hoping that you could give me some advice.

I'm just about to order a new(ish) Octy (just waiting for some cash to arrive). When I spoke to my dealer, he mentioned that it was possible to configure the car so that one press on the remote opened all of the doors, rather than just the driver's.

Is there anything similar that I should ask for?

Many thanks!

Andy

In the rest of Europe they come like that by default.

I just hand a friend configure Scandinavian lights on mine (low beams always on - save a turn of the dial) and coming/leaving home set at 30s. Love them.

Re:door unlocking. It is possible, but do you want it to do that? The other option is to have it configured so that a single press on the remote opens just the driver's door, while 2 presses opens all doors. It's a security (anti-hijacking) feature, so when approaching the car at night etc. you only open a single door.

Also worth mentioning that if your car has maxidot, you can switch this feature whenever you want, rather than the dealer needing to plug your car in to do it

That can be configured with maxi-dot.... Mine cam like that and it was ****in me off everytime someone was travelling with me.... so into maxi-dot and changed it....

I turned off the alarm lock/unlock beep (I hate unecessary noises), but left the blinker flash on. I like the extra security the auto lock gives you (although my missus gets irritated about having to pull the door release twice to get out).

Thanks, all. I'll print this off, and ask my dealer to make these changes. If I get lucky, maybe the car will have maxidot...
