What to Modify?

Featured Replies

I have just bought a Fabia 1.4 2000 in China Blue.:D

I have debadged the comfort logos above the indicators and the 1.4 bar below the Fabia letters but I plan to totally debadge the rear when I have time.

Anything else I can do to make it look nice without spending too much?

note there are two holes in the boot behind the skoda emblem. For a true smooth boot you will need to fill and respray that part. Blacked out indicator lenses look good. Beesting aerial perhaps. Hard to not spend a lot of money on stuff though. Lowering springs are relatively inexpensive but not easy to fit DIY. You could change some bulbs - silver vision indicators. Also I like the white 5 LED in 1 sidelight bulbs, and you can get them for the numberplate light bulbs too. A cover for the high level brake light to read "fabia" or "skoda" when you brake? If you feel up to it you could buy tinting film and do the rear half of the car. :)

I'd keep everything simple if you're on a budget mate, don't chav it up... just enhance what you've got.

How about some Skoda alloys of some description. (If you don't have some already), you'd probably be able to pick up some old, but good condition, Octavia or Fabia alloys on eBay for less than £100.

Or does you car have black handles and rubstrips? Colour coding these can make a world of difference. The rubstrips should pop straight off, grab some primer from halfords nad some paint from skoda and get spraying!

personally id leave the skoda emblem badges on...id be having it lowered by 25-30mm all around, some multispoke alloys on some 35mm run flats...if you dont want to splash out on a new back box, you could fit a chrome tail pipe....and best of all keep it clean and waxed and you'll have a good lookin motor !

It does has black handles and rubstrips but i plan to take the rubstrips off.

How much is the paint from Skoda usually?

How about removing the rear wiper all together for a super smooth rear? I haven't done this on mine as I like to see clearly though.. I did fit a Polo Areo arm, they're a little slicker.

Get your paint code (from your manual) and go to the likes of Halfrauds and get them to make up a spray can (skoda MIGHT be a bit dear mate )

Less is more.

Stick to that rule and you'll go far.

Here's mine, it's a 1.4Mpi Fabia with a few bits taken off, lowered and on VRS alloys... see my sig for more of the mods or Pm me for a full list... My advice would be some colour coding though, get the grille done!

I've done a few more things to it but he needs a clean so will get some more pics up then.
