Removing radio-antenna

Featured Replies

Anybody who please can tell me how to unscrew/remove the antenna on the roof? Tried it today when I planned to use the autowash but the thing wouldnt totally unscrew....

It is an antenna which is combined with the GPS antenna.... Its an 2008 L&K estate...

Is it one which is just designed to fold flat? Only way to 100% remove is unscrew from underneath, behind the headlinging, I imagine, but you don't want a hole in your roof during a car wash

It folds flat by unscrewing it as long as it will go, then (I think) pulling it up some, then it will finally fold down flat on the roof.

Spot on. As described in the manual.

Thanks to you all....

In the manual the only thing i could find about the antenne is that it says you have to remove it when in autowash...

If it is not possible to remove it completely i wouldnt recommend anybody to use autowash at all.......

I've got the 300mm bee sting aerial on mine. You have to pull really hard to remove it - to the point where you are convinced it will all end in tears.

I wouldn't use an automated washer, one little piece of debree and your car might get a funky pattern.

I agree, but sometimes its easier.....

I have to admit that I do use the washer sometimes and I simply loosen the antenna.

ok, maybe I'll try someday..... :)

ah ha...i've been here before..what i did, and don't panic, is to use a crow bar !!!....one of the ends is V shaped..i unscrewed the aerial as far as it would go, then GENTLY !!! put the V part under the aerial..then, with MINIMUM pressure, moved the crow bar up, and off popped the aerial:thumbup:

Each to their own :)
