Is your felly knocking?

Featured Replies

Hey there folks...Seen quite a lot of posts about people with knocking noises when the clutch it used and when the engine shifts (lifting off the throttle and back on again).Well I would like to report that Nelly has just come back from my local garage complete with a new rear engine/gearbox mount and is no longer knocking... she's a dream to drive now without hearing her banging and knocking eveytime I lift up the clutch or when the engine is ticking over on a bit of a slope and hearing an awful rattling noise! So just thought I would share that to give a definitave answer about this particular knock... now to sort all the others out! lolPhil

Did you replace the whole mount?

I got one part of the mounting, think I needed the other half too. But I got a cooling issue to now!!!

Yeh from what I and the garage could tell it came complete so rather than trying to find just the rubber etc for the sake of £15 just replaced the complete mount.

By complete I mean just the back triangular shaped bit that contains the rubber mount.

I replaced the bottom triangular bit on mine and it's still knocking

Thing the mounting bit the trigular thing connects to also needs replacing.

Maybe worth checking the other mounts too... and also I have noticed that sometimes the gear linkage is knocking due to worn bushes (pending a bodge job as i'm not paying £70 for the complete unit!)
