There is this unplugged wiring connector on my felly,

Its behind the battery, it has some big wires coming from it, and its got enough connections for 6 wires.

I would take a pic but its dark.

Anyone know what it is?

Oh and can somebody without a L&K post a photo of, the loom underneeth the glove box, you can see it when you take the bucket out of the glove box.

I want to compare wiring. ( bare with me, i think i know where im going with this )

That sounds like exactly where the diagnostic connector is on my car (1.3 spi). No idea on the 1.6 mpi though.

i assume you mean the little white connector in this pic??

Errr... the diagnostic connector is under the dash under the steering wheel.

I've used it loads of times... mines a 1.3 spi too.

Perhaps it's more uniform on the Felicia then. Mine's a 5 pin unused one exact same style and location as the black connectors in tom's pic.

and yes the dianostic plug is under the steering wheel.

i'll be honest, i'm not 100% sure what it does, i'd have to flash it through to the fusebox to find out where it goes, but i'd hazard a guess that it's for the abs pump/controller

thats what im confused about.

They'll put the wiring in for everything and if an option is not installed (i.e. it was optional or not supplied on your trim level) you'll be left with an unused wiring connector. So if it is for the abs controller and your model does not have ABS....

I'm fairly sure this plug is a Skoda diagnostic socket, pre 16 pin type.

ive got a laurin and klement.

so yes ive got ABS.

I dont think its a dianostic plug, mainly because i've got the 16 pin type already.

And they arn't little wires they are quite hefty, generally used to put out a few amps.

Infact the only thing i can think of that the l&K hasnt got is...

power steering and air con.

Anyone care to check if you have one??

other than that, the only thing i can think of is that it's a throwback from the rally days, and it might be to power the bonnet lamp pods, and they put the wiring in to comply iwith group n spec maybe??
