Vrs Purchase?

Featured Replies

Hello

I am currently looking at buying a 04 or 05 Black Octavia vRS but just want to check on the standard colour options.

I am looking at a car advertised as 'black'. Most vRS's come in Diamond Black magic.

Does anyone know if they are all made Diamond Black or wether it was an option at time of purchase?

Car I am looking at as below: Price is £3600. This seems very cheap for year and milage. Any thoughts?

5 Door hatchback,Sports/Convertible, Black, Petrol, Manual, 3x3 point rear seat belts, ABS, Alloy wheels, Body coloured bumpers, Climate control, Drivers airbag, Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Immobiliser, Passenger Airbag, AM/FM Stereo, CD Multichanger, CD Player, Premium Sound System,Power Windows,Alloy Wheels, Catalytic Converter, Rear Spoiler, Tow Bar,Power:180, Road Tax:April 2009,MOT Expiry:September 2009,FULL SERVICE HISTORY,Mileage:48,492,very very clean inside and outside, date registered 08/03/2005

Thanks

Neale.

Paint Should be Black magic, sounds like a good buy to me.Is it a dealer?

No its a private sale but pictures dont help with the paint question.

I am really into my polishing etc so has to be metallic paint for me or will always be dissapointed.

Price is really cheap which is what worries me.

Will contact seller as no quote on number of owners etc as if its been throug a few since 05 something could be wrong?

Neale.

if you have the full number plate put it through that txt car check thing they have on the tele. that should let you no if its a cat d or c or if any owners are on the books, but sounds like a good buy, colour should be black magic

is that registered 08/march/05 or august/03/05? If the former why was the mot so late????

Thanks for your input NinjaVRS.

Will do some more research.

Thanks again.

Black magic is pearl effect i think?

I am pasting the link below if this is allowed. My apoogies if its not.

Also whats strange is it clearly has parking sensors mounted at the back but no mention of these in the advert. Could have costed more for more lines of text i suppose but I would use that as a good option to advertise.

Auto Trader UK - SKODA OCTAVIA 1.8T RS 5dr Hatchback=

Seems really cheap at that price. If it is a genuinely straight car with no write off issues, then I can't quite believe how much they are going for now.

yeah some dealers get it wrong when they explain stuff dont worry if it does have them then its a good extra as mine have them and i find them really handy, it looks a cracking car and thats defo black magic paint, so clear its like a mirror

I've never seen one that cheap - £3600 seems to be the going rate for 02/52 or higher mileage 03/53. Seems strange that it's quoted as having the optional ESP, but not the optional parking sensors as you say. Has it had those number plates stuck over existing ones? I'm always wary of adverts with the pics taken in a public place and only a mobile phone number, so it's worth checking carefully.

i have done a car txt check for you do you want to no the results

Checking the DVLA site it was first reg, 08/march, I would be questioning why the MOT is september, I would say it was too cheap.

Grateful to you all for your replie.

I have hanckered for my VRS forever and am currently working 7 days a week to get the money together for my dream car.

I'm glad you think its Black Magic as was bit worried.

Like you say, sometimes really good deals do crop up but it pays to be careful nowadays.

I am gonna take a week off when i finally get my VRS and show it a good time with my various cleaning products! :)

vehicle nj05ujy was damaged category =d on 17-08-2008 and insurers decided not to repair it

vehicle nj05ujy was damaged category =d on 17-08-2008 and insurers decided not to repair it

That explains the new mot then

vin ***9645 1.8 march 05 3 owners no colour changes and not stolen

its not all bad tho cat d doesnt mean its cheap just depends on the repair work, so you will have to see the car in the flesh and check it out, anyway you can have the cat d's taken off know buy paying the dvla a % of it

If it was a honest straight advert the cat d would be declared in the advert, rather than very clean inside and out, jmo :)

Thanks NinjaVRS, i really appreciate the check you did for me and for eveyone's input.

Something was not wright about the list and just wanted another opinon.

I cant afford to have something go wrong with it if I buy it and the Cat D would always niggle at me I think. Would prefer an original example but no such thing as a free lunch as they say.

Will keep my eyes peeled as there seem to be loads of VRS's in black appearing. One good thing of the credit crunch I guess is that cars come down in price.

It might be worth asking the seller about it, and seeing if there's a proper log of the repairs - after all, unless he's just brought it he'll have been the one who wrote it off. If it was only panel damage and it's documented it might be worth a punt. Just be aware that you might struggle when it comes to sell it.

Looks like you just missed the best ever, with Gerry passing his vRS on,,,,

thats ok mate were here to help!!! hope you find the one your looking for, it took me ages finding the right one with the right milage and some of the extras

The bottom has fallen out of the market, was offered £4500 trade in from a skoda dealershipfor my 2005 14,000 miler black majic vrs which is immaculate and with a lot of extras, so i'll just keep it, so now is a good time to buy!
