What is the point?!

Featured Replies

Near on 3 years of trouble free enjoyable motoring from my VRS, pretty much in mint condition... then some tw@** decides to hit it. Not sure where to be honest, could of been Sainsburys but no note (surprise).

What is the point of having a half decent motor?!

Do you think there is any damage? The seals look alright, I am hoping it will just be a case of taking bumper off and realigning it..

Cheers

:o

unlucky well my FRIEND damaged my car by denting whole front so i got 300 off him :D

I know how you feel mate, similar (a little worse than yours) experience not so long back myself.... however I was lucky enough to grab hold of the stupid cun?........

Hope it's sorted ASAP for you.

Ouch, fair bit worse than mine. I just hope it is a case of putting bumper back in place and the crash bar hasn't been pushed in...

This guide is really nice for taking off bumper ;

I had the same thing on the same side of the car as you.

The car was parked outside my work, and when I came out my eye caught what I thought was water lying beside it. Upon closer inspection, it was glass from the indicator lense.

Twas totally smashed, the paint scuffed through to the plastic below the lense, the bumper pushed out and the black mouldings sitting proud. The other driver must have felt that amount of force.

Feeling a bit miffed, I gave the bumper a temper induced push and it slotted back in place fine, as did the moulding.

I've got a new indicator unit to fit, then get the whole front bumper resprayed.

Hopefully yours will be the same.

Good luck

The trouble is, "other people think it's JUST a car" :(

Those people are well.. scum, no respect for other peoples property. The unfortunate thing is that it would now make me think twice about leaving details if I were to hit a car.

Its a vicous circle, if I ever caught the git that did it their car would be in a far worse state than mine...

Yeah i returned to my last car in a multistorey carpark once to find the rear bumper quarter had been ripped off by a car swinging into it. The bumper section was just lying on the floor. I was f*cked off to say the least!

I actually hate people that swing open doors into other cars. I have the metal image of a snipers bullet exploding their skulls as they do it! Boils my blood

:iagree: Especially annoying when you happen to be sitting in your car and they do it knowing your there. Had one or two heated aguments due to this :argue:

Well then, if I've deliberately parked with an empty place each side of me, and it means that much to you, don't park next to me!! I'm not disabled but sometimes do actually need all the space I can get to get in and out of the car!

Actually Ken I also like to park (where possible) out of the way with plenty of empty spaces around me. Despite this some clowns have left me needing a tin opener to get in and yes it f$%ks me off especially when there are loads of empty spaces. If I have to park my car in a tight space I use care and consideration and try not to contact other motors with my door. Anyway I'm talking about disrespectful idiots that swing their doors open regardless and really whack cars next to them, really pi$$es me off even if its not my car, if this is you then please do not ever park next to me :finger:

Well some good news, sort of.

I loosened the bolts holding the side of the bumper in place in an attempt to adjust with no luck.. Driving to work today I heard a 'pop', sounded like I had driven over something but it looks like the bumper has popped back into place.

Bit of a result... it could still be out a tad (maybe I am being fussy) but I think I can live with it.

As for the previous post, I am totally anal in car parks and it drives the misses up the wall. "Why can't we park near the supermarket" etc.. but rain or shine I will park where no one else will dare in an attempt to minimise numptys opening doors on it.
