Wheel preview

Featured Replies

I don't know if this has worked, but hopefully, attached to this thread is a picture of a Bora from Oz with my wheels on it, but not my tyres. If it hasn't worked, well you're all gonna have to wait aren't you??? :eyecrazy:

Look similar to the alloys on the 4x4; nice.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Testing to see if I can do this too...

I like these wheels:

I like those wheels too. A mate of mine got a C reg 944 for about a grand (bargain I thought) and thats got really nice wheels on it too (I don't reckon the porsche range can come with sub-standard wheels)

The piccie didn't post in the message like mine. There must be someone who knows how to post the image into the message itself (or maybe colin/ian don't want people posting entire picture galleries into the messages - I don't blame them I suppose) :D

Jason,

You can post images into the thread if you want, you'll need it hosting, yahoo, briskoda support package etc then use [ i m g ] tags. The best bet it attaching though as it reduces bandwidth and you or a 56k dialup will not have to wait for an image to load when you have viewed the thread 50+ times etc :D

ps

Nice OZ wheels, ponders if I got them in 18's it would still look stock...:D

I would have like to get 18" wheels myself, but the Fabia would need something like 20 profile tyres to keep the same circumference. I thought that 17s were the best choice for me, but 18s would look nice on an Octy RS I reckon. Thanks for your image posting help, I think I'll stick to attaching as I did first time, or providing a URL to a website. Cheers

Well presently on 16's...

18's on the fabia would look, well massive :) and of course 20 rubber would be a very skittery ride I think for the UK's roads. Manny has pics of an RS on 19's I think.

I just always think on F1 tyres, low hub weight, albeit a big undamped spring.

Np on the images.

I don't even know if 20 profile tyres exist do they? My new 40 tryes took a while to get used to feeling all the bumps in the road - I've never spent so much effort trying to drive around pot-holes...

SORRY

You're all gonna have to wait until tomorrow for the skoda pics to be posted on my website. I'm going to some talk in Exeter tonight with a mate, all about landing a probe on mars or something. As we'll no doubt be visiting a local hostelry afterward I don't know what state of drunkeness I'll be in when I get home and whether I'll be in a fit state to design a website (may be a bit wonky, ya know)

I've therefore decided to email myself at work, and then probably post the piccies during some time at work as I have internet access here.

Cheers

Well, really!!!

I've not lost all of my student habits, ya know :D I've learned to wash since those days though...

I found it took half a bottol of red wine to really get into Genetic Algorithms, any more though and autonomous devices became an item of fantasy...

Jason, not sure if your host suppports PHP, but if it does drop me a PM, got a nice script for you, beats FTP and can be used when the local mead is keeping you awake.

umm mead...

I don't really have a host as such. Its only a geocities website and everytime you access it you just enter a password and it downloads the tools to build up the site - makes it a bit easier for me. I'm not much a fan of the mead though - much prefer vast quantities of the finest stouts. so much so I even have two guiness t-shirts and a murphys one too. As for needing alcohol to understand my work, I did economics as my degree, and I felt you either understood it, or not. And thats that. The alcohol only helped with that depressing feeling when I didn't ever understand something. Kind of made it seem like it really didn't matter... :dtp:

Red wine?! What kind of student were you?!?! :p

I still have "fond" memories of spending 14 coffee-fuelled hours writing an SML

program to do long division...14 hours of my life I'll never get back...>sigh<

Rob.

Hmmm yes - no red wine during my student days either .... What's PHP, and SML?

Nick (B.Sc. Nuclear Engineering and IT consultant - ironic eh?)

Well, if you decide you want a host that has a bit of flexibility

and won't randomly delete your files, let me know and I'll

see what I can do! ;)

Rob - your degree sounded like a barrel of laughs, but STILL more interesting than mine :D

I never seem to have ever spent a 14 hour stretch doing anything at university. I guess after a few hours I would start sobering up, the DTs would start to make me shake, and I'd have to get down the pub again. :dtp:

Uni? Oh yes I went there them by some clerical error they gave me an honours degree in something called Manufacturing Engineering & Management. Funny as I now work in the railway.

All you IT tech-heads are gonna have a giggle at this one - This was me trying to get those photos of my car on my website. What a nightmare :program:

1) arrived home 5:45 - had half hour to download ZIP disk Dad brought from office. OK - Suddently realised I had uninstalled my iomega software from my PC, due to wanting to sell the ZIP drive with another PC I'm having sound trouble with. Spent half hour until I had to go to this Mars Lander talk in Exeter to find the CD - Could I find it anywhere? could I hell!! Left 6:15 very frustrated and racking my brain as to where it could be.

2) Arrived home after pub food & ONLY two beers to resume search for CD - Gave up and downloaded the driver form iomega.com - Got it installed - YIPPEE, you would have thought. Got the drive powered up and stuck in the ZIP disk, and..... IT WAS BLOODY MACINTOSH FORMATTED!! so it was all a waste of time. To top it off I went rummaging in my sister's desk, where I had been working on the troublesome PC and found all my PC formatted ZIPs..... AND THE INSTALLATION CD!

3) I kicked the PC and went to bed!

So, for all those people who were going to get a peek at my wheels today, sorry. Dad's got to go back to work today with one of my PC ZIPs, and whack all the photos on there - Its going to be the weekend now before I get anything done now....
