Power loss and exhaust warning light after a service

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just had my 2004 Fabia 1.9 TDI estate serviced, including cam belt change as it's 4 years old. Since getting the car back, it seems to lack power around 2000 revs, almost as if there's severe turbo lag, but the turbo never kicks in, and now the Exhaust Warning light has come on.

Everything seemed fine before this service, so how likely is it that the mechanics have buggered something up? It's on its way back to the garage right now, but obviously I don't want to be charged for work they might have created accidentally.

Cheers

Trev

Take it back to where the work was done. Sounds like they have left something disconnected, or got the timing belt timing wrong.

Cheers for the response, just got back from the garage and they said it was a hose that "looked a bit weak when we serviced it"

Still, it's been fixed now.

Excellent, job done, a result :D

Take it back and complain!
