headunit advice?

Featured Replies

as christmas is just around the corner i decided it was time to write my christmas present list for santa and ive decided i would like a alpine headunit for my mk1 oct vrs and at a later date i will be adding a amp and sub.

Ive always had alpine stuff and i like the quality and the style. I want it to play mp3 and thats about it really.

I want something standard looking and im not bothered about keeping the auto changer as ive never been a big fan of them anyway.

the point of this thread is to ask the nice people of briskoda what they recommend and if any one has a alpine headunit(with pictures) in there car.

cheers:thumbup:

What's your budget? If you are going for an amp in the future then definitely get a h/u with 4 outputs - it'll make it easier.

Alpine head units are superb and you are right to stick with them.

I have a CDA 9885R which I am happy with, but I also use the autochanger and radio functions.

I suggest you check out the Alpine X001 which is a dedicated MP3 unit.

It has no radio or CD capability, so you aren't paying for something you are not going to use. It does have full control of an iPod and might be what you are looking for. Good luck.
