Rejecting My Octavia vRS MK2

Featured Replies

Neebsta, sounds like you've had a real hassle over the last twelve months. :thumbdwn: But one suggestion re the "courtesy" car and your 6'3" frame. I thought you would be entitled to an "equivalent" vehicle when warranty work is being undertaken, I'm sure I read that either on the Which or Honest John website. However reading the SMMT's booklet it seems they aren't required to make it equivalent - just "reasonable" If you can't reasonably fit in the courtesy car they provide then they need to provide you with an alternative. Do you have a wife and kids? can you fit them and their car seats in the Furby? If not, again, angle for something bigger!

Good luck!

no, i'm not surprised that the rejection failed seeing as you've owned the car for 12 months. sounds about 9-11 months too late to me.

have you not considered swopping it for an older model of a different manufacturer?

If it's got this far only the courts could decide what is a reasonable time. You really NEED to get legal advice instead of asking a bunch of amateurs like us Briskodians. But I'm sure we'd back you all the way.

I have spoken to Skoda UK and told them I am initiating rejection of my vehicle' date=' as it is not fit for the purpose.

My wife had a fabia VRS SE and last year we were able to reject it even though it was 10 months old due to an annoying clicking noise from the offside A pillar. Caffyns the dealer attempted 2 repairs and it went up to skoda technical department for 3 weeks and they could not cure it either.

In all of this the dealer was very good keeping us informed of any progress

If you purchased your car using skoda finance its also worth contacting them as we did

I dont know if it made any difference but over the years we have owned 5 cars all supplied by the same dealer[/quote']

My son purchased the car from the dealer after it was eventually repaired and subsequently wrote it off 2 months later

I haven't followed all the stoty tbh, but reading between the lines would suggest Skoda are being very unreasonable.

Deffinately time to contact What Car, Watchdog, et al...

Time to seek legal advice and/or get on to the major motoring press.
