Which Fuel?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Picking my VRS up on saturday and was wondering what petrol to use? Normal or the good stuff 98ron etc. Do these engines respond well to better fuel or is it a waste?

Cheers

Matt

If you use the search button there are a few threads on which fuel to use, and its pros and cons.

I always used Tesco 99 and never had a problem, others have different preferences, but they do run better on the higher octane fuels.

agreed there

I only use 95 when there is nothin else within 10-20 mile of me. or oits tesco 99 in bristol or 97 in Hwest.

99 gives me more responce

97 is better for fuel economy. 3-5 mpg more

Skoda state 98RON should be used, and 95RON only in exceptional circumstances (at reduced performance).

Most people (including me) use Shell V-Power 99, or Tesco Super 99 when you can't find a Shell garage.

BP Ultimate 97 and Total Exellium 97 is also good.

You will notice reduced power and increased fuel consumption with a lower octane/quality fuel.

Best way to find out is to test some for yourself though....

My vRS gets regular unleaded (whatever grade) that is here in India since out of the major cities 97 isn't available. Believe thats the reason Skoda has detuned the car to 150bhp standard.
