Front Fog lights

Should there be a light on the dashboard when you put the front fogs on? When i pull the headlight control out once the front fogs come on but the symbol on the headlight control doesnt light up nor does a light come on on the dashboard. If i pull it out a 2nd time the rear fogs come on, the symbol on the headlight control lights up and a light come on on the dashboard.

Is this how it should be or am i going to need another visit to the dealers?

Cheers

Maybe not much use but on my 06 Octavia II Vrs, When pulling out the front fog switch the green light on the switch lights up but no warning on the dash.

When I pull the knob further for rear fogs the light for the rears on the switch does not light up but a warning on the dash does.

Hope that makes sence to you! I know this as I was messing with them yesterday as I thought I had a fault as only 1 rear fog was on, I'm now told thats the way it should be.

Although going from what your saying I may still have a fault as the light on the switch does not light to show the rear fog is on, only a warning on the dash!

I think if you look on your light switch, with front fogs on you get a light on the light switch.

seem to think it might have been mentioned on here . But i could be wrong :D

It has been mentioned before in the last couple of weeks. It is working as it should.

Explanation was that there is no legal requirement to have a tell tale for the front fogs on the dash but there is for the rears.

No, its fine

The Fronts should illuminate the symbol on the switch, the Rears should illuminate the Symbol on the dash

Reason?

As above;

Explanation was that there is no legal requirement to have a tell tale for the front fogs on the dash but there is for the rears.
