Addicted now- Briskoda you are to blame fpor this

Featured Replies

chosen new brakes and pads now(JKM), order them tomorrow, michelin pilot sports 2 in the post as well(just the front though):D:D

next up is the handling, decided against lowering cos i do some much heavy load lugging, instead front and Rer anti-roll bar upgrades and poly bushes, and looking into suspension geometry.

hope it'll make the difference for some track abuse.

oh and the wife is going nuts, i didnt realise that i couldnt spend my mony on things i wanted:rofl:

Usually if you lower your car, the springs you put on are a higher rating (stiffer) than standard ones.

So you will still be able to carry stuff.

ARB's are a good idea all round.

As for the wife and money... I just tell my Mrs that I earnt it, so im going to spend it. :)

HTH.

but even with std springs i have had the back of that car not far from the wheels.considering adjustable coil overs as a possibility, but that will be in a few months, need to spread out my buying or ill have no money left and no end of lip.:o

im in contact with wheels in motion at the moment, looking at getting ARB's fitted and possibly geometry adjusted, i believe if they can change the camber slightly and give me more traction in and out of corners, but want to know the trade off for tyre wear, id accept a little but nothing ridiculous.

in my opinion, i think the handling is good anyway, the only fault i have found is the body roll when you push it. otherwise im happy.

it certainly handles better than my old audi coupe. 2.8L engine upfront and soft suspension made it like sailing a yacht through corners lol.

I'd go one thing at a time till you know the effects. With my old Mk I I used to carry a lot of gear around; talking 60 litre climbing packs, 2 spare wheels (long story); basically a lot of tail end weight.

With uprated ARB's F+R and dampers I got a feel that was just brilliant for me. Very Neutral to over depending on what else I could fit in the boot.

I had coilovers previously on a Mk1 4x4, although a different beast, fewer braces etc the arb's made a more noticeable improvement to overall handling and daily enjoyment. Once out on track the taught er feel paid dividends as well. It felt better than the coilovers. Now if I'd doe coilovers too then it would of been even better...but it's overkill for 90% of the daily driving on m-ways and welsh b roads.

Ps you'll lover the pilot sports, loads of grip. Broke me of my P Zero Nero obession... so good I brought 3 in as many weeks...end of 2 wheels in boot story, blasted welsh b roads and rocks.

ps

Sorry for the addiction, I did loose sleep over this a few years back... now I'm past redemption for all the souls we've stole, marriages broken up, credit cards maxed, it's not a nice place to be when you turn that corner and look up at the briskoda's cost me this much :(

Still it's all in the name of living, so get out there and do it!
