Pic1 is slightly wonky because the rails aren't quite level in places :P

Not having a tripod severly limited what I could do :(

The skyscraper is the IFC building. There are two IFC buildings, the other is about half the height but in the same style.

It's this building that's featured in The Dark Knight :)

I wish I had put my wide angle lens on the D700 instead of the D200 though. You're right though - all of those shots were on pier 9 public pier at the far end of the dock.

I'm now trying to work out an excuse so that I have to return to China for more work ;)

Sorry ap0gee, #2 is Bank of China.......HSBC's hq look like this:

Right you are...

Is the Hankers & Shankers building really wider at the top than the bottom? ;)

Better than the Prince of Wales Building! ;):D

Sorry, abused my moderating privileges to merge the panda and hong kong threads. A complete set of photos now :)

Chengdu where I was staying in central China is an interesting place. But it's always grey. I don't think they have ever seen blue skies in their lives

I did love the various bicycles overladen with goods to sell :) It's just a completely different way of living

You also get wonderful English typos. Anyone fancy a Dental Lplant? :D

D2C_3274.jpg

Also, the wonderful Chinese people have no sense of health and safety. Just a few metres climb to get a nice 110kV tingle  :D

But we did get to see Chengdu's computer city. Quite an amazing concentration of technology and cute girls shouting "DVD! DVD! DVD! I sell you cheap DVD!" :o

Food over there is incredibly spicy :yummy: How about a nice chili spicy hotpot :D

Then, it was off back home via Hong Kong

As you can see, the international side of Chengdu airport is really busy

Now, some HK stuff :D The few hours I had there were enough to mesmerise me. :o

The IFC building, a bit straighter this time.

I also managed to head into town for a few minutes. The MTR underground is fantastic. So clean, tidy, on time, no graffiti or scratched tagged windows, etc.

This is at Causeway Bay, rather trendy place.

I'm now trying to figure out how I can justify another trip out there with work. The Panda park and few hours at Hong Kong were just awesome.

Fantastic photos mate!

Nice one Xav. Brings back a few memories.

Some excellent pics there!

Thanks for sharing :)

I hate you Xav! :P

Which camera did you take?

I'm slightly disappointed with the Pandas - whats with the brown belly? Do they not wash themselves? :(

The EXIF should be in the photos, Loz ;) Took my D200 and D700 and all shots were taken with either the new Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 which fits on the full frame D700 and my 85mm f/1.4 Nikkor :) I also took my 30mm f/1.4 Sigma DX but didn't really use it at all

A great set of photos Xav; particularly like your cityscape ones
