Airbag Light on?!

Featured Replies

Hi there, have popped over to the Briskoda forums from SCN to ask for a favour for a client of mine. He is having a look at a Fabia today, and wants me to meet him there, he says the airbag light is on, and apparently this is a common fault amongst Fabias? I believe its a 2000, a 1.4 petrol (unsure about the age sorry!). I was reading and apparently it could be a regulator on the battery? If this is likely to be the case, what fault codes should i be picking up? (taking fault code reader!) Also what other faults should I be looking out for. Many thanks for your help guys.

The airbag light on my wife's 1.4 MPi came on after the battery died, so it's quite likely. Can't remember the fault code, though. This lists pretty much everything that can go wrong:

Don't necessarily be put off by anything you find wrong - it may well be a DIY job that has a guide on here. In this case, you might want to use it as grounds for striking a discount instead!

Just found out the car has 88,000 miles on and the guys looking for £1,200. Does that sound about right? And thanks very much for the quick response, most helpful! Also whats the service intervals on these? 10k?

Check the price on the Autotrader website once you know how old it is - can't help more without that. Service intervals are: full service every year plus oil change every 10k if more than 10k per year...
