Worried about resale value

How long have Rover had a plant in india for? What other rover cars are made there?

They don't have a plant over there...Tata make the cars, and Rover buy them off them "unbranded" and stick a badge on...

Rob.

They also improve the suspension and add a CD player IIRC.

Sadly, too little too late...

Shame really!

Hav you drive a City Rover Rob? They truly are terrible cars IMHO and are far too expensive for what they are, should make good value used buys as a second car.

Haven't driven one (really didn't want to show too much interest in case the dealer got all undignified in his quest to sell one ;) ), but had a look. From a "first impression" point of view, it doesn't seem like good value for money...for the money it does feel very low-specced, flimsy and cheap. And for the

I actually test drove one a while back while I was waiting for SWMBO to finish shopping and the dealer knocked 1500 off for me and threw in aircon on the bottom model (sprite??) must be desperate :D

 The Sprite's the sporty version! :D

Guess the real question is...have you seen any on the road? I've seen *one*, which, considering how long they've been out and that I pass a Rover dealer to go anywhere, doesn't reflect well!

I have seen one in Cornwall driven by an 'older' couple at 30 odd MPH on a duel carriageway, seems to fit the Rover image perfectly

Your going to lose whatever you do on any car unless it is highly sought after. I plan to see if I can do 200K in mine, just to say....told u so. U never know, I just might do it!!

Had never heard of City Rovers until this thread - sounds like the usual good Rover marketing ... :D

Edit: just had a look - yuk!!

While we're at it, I've not seen many MkV Golfs, or new-shape A3s about. I thought they'd be flying from the stealerships! Probably keep their value better than the 5hittyRover, however ;) Of which I think I've seen three ever, and only one that was actually moving :D

Car park at work is overrun with new shape A3's - company cars? - and I've seen a few MkV Golfs but not as many as I would have expected - has the Golf bubble finally burst? ;)

Chris

Mike - As requested, some pics. Have some better ones but they were taken on my proper camera so they need scanning in.

Jesus I dont remember them looking that good, really suits the fabia although I think lowerering is in order !

Yeah, definitely, saving up as we speak!

They look great on your Fabia.

Cheers. I think they look like they were meant to be on the car, so people don't particularly notice them as standing out, which was the look I was after.
