VRS alloys back from refurb with a colour change...

Featured Replies

Hi guys, since I mentioned I was having this done in a previous post Ive had a couple of messages asking for photos. The wheels have literally gone back on an hour ago so I have a few quick snaps of them. The photos arent great - some have a lot of distortion on as I had to use a wide angle lens due to lack space in the garage.

To me the colour is spot on to what I wanted - a gun metal colour; not too dark but noticeably non standard silver :)

I have a few more jobs to do on the car before it comes out the from hibernation (ive been giving it a full detail over the course of the last week) and then I'll get some better photos outside.

Enjoy...

Hi, absolutly super looking....................do you have a colour code ???

Love it. I would have even gone a shade darker, maybe.

Sweet  Love the subtle change, just looks like it was meant to be like that from day one!

Are the wheels a lacquered or powder coated finish,Any chance you could post a picture of the rear spoiler, what make is it:thumbup:

I saw these in the flesh not long after Lee got them back and they look lush, can't wait to see them on the car in the day light tho

Spot on Lee. Just the shade I would have gone for

Paint code? No code, custom mixed with a touch up. Think BMW have some similar coloured optional wheels and Audi's (the A5 ones I looked at) are a touch darker than mine.

Thanks for the comments guys and girls.

If anybody wants the darker shade on undamaged alloys, the easiest way is to just get 1 coat of tinted lacquer on top of everything else.

:iagree: Looks good

Very nice.

Very nice Lee , love the colour and looks like they have done a top job . . . how much did u get charged ?

Thanks for the continued comments guys - I have to say that at the time I was unsure whether to go darker as per some of your comments but I genuinely like them as they are. Unfortunatly, they wont stay that clean for long at this time of year anyway. :(

The actual job itself is a really top quality job - the guy uses really good quality paints and laquers unlike some other local bodyshops I know of and if the job isnt 100% he doesnt let it go out. He refurbed and sprayed each wheel for 60 squids inc all the hub bolt caps. Its a top quality job and condsidering other quotes didnt include spraying the inside of the wheel also (why would anyone want the front being a different colour!?) I thought very reasonable indeed.

If anyone is based around Hertfordshire and wants his number just drop me a PM :)

I like these a lot and am thinking how great they would look on a Candy White vRS :)

They look PERFECT Lee, top stuff.

Probably the best VRS colour for these imo - that would make a great combination.

Subtle and stylish - I think they look really good and manage to avoid the drug dealer / footballers car look.

I second that. There's a thread with Octi pictures and a white one with dark grey or dark chrome wheels. Hubba.

I'm liking those wheels a lot!
