What tyre pressure would you run?

Featured Replies

I have 205/40/16 on my fabia vrs what tyre pressure is correct for that size tyre etc???

Recommended pressures are on the inside of your fuel filler flap.

But i run 2.5bar front, 2.3 bar rear

Your sidewall profile is too low!

Yer the info in the fuel cap is for 205/45/16 but i changed my tyres to 205/40/16 a lower profile.

I dont know if it makes a different??

It makes a difference to your speedo reading. Think it makes your car illegal for road use.

Aren't you supposed to have more on the front due to the extra weight of the engine?

It'll only be illegal if he has different aspect ratios over an axle, as long as say both fronts were 40's and not one 40 and one 45 it's not going to be a problem (something to bear in mind if it's a full sized spare that's not had the tyre changed). It will effect the speedo readings, but it will read faster than you are actually going roughly 3.5% too fast, so again not illegal (as far as I know) would be different if larger tyres were fitted as this would mean the car potentially could be travelling faster than the speedo was indicating.

I Do re-read dude:D

regardles of tyre size/alloys etc. pressure should stay the same. Although the lower you go i'd be slightly more inclined to go up in pressure *slightly*

be sure to check pressures when your tyres are cold.

Im running 215/40/16 on the front :) 30psi.

Was running more in my first set of 205/40/16... and they woreout badly due to to being inflated to much even though they looked fine.

Why did you think that??? if that was the case then whouldn't it ally to everyone replacing there alloys with others???

30 PSI!!!!!. I have octavia alloys with 215/40/17 and i run 36 on the front and 34 on the rear.

I have run up to 36psi in the fron of the Fabia, depending on tyre make, and as low as 32. See what feels best. Rears I ran at 28 or 30.

I run the rears of my race car at 45-50psi ;)

Tyres still look brand new after a seasons racing :D

On my fabia, i run 32front 38rear to keep the rear end lively.

I run 34 all round,
