My new 19 inch wheels!!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Here is a picture of my RS on its new 19 inch OZ Superleggras:D

I think you will agree that they look great!!!

The wheel shop didn't think they would fit but there is no rubbing and the car handles even better than before.

FYI the tyres are 225/35/19 F1.

The keen eyed amongst you will also notice that there is a nice big spoiler on the back. I'll post a picture of this in a separate thread.

19" Wheels, spoiler and tints? look great - I bet your getting a lot of looks from other drivers when they catch a glimse of your car.

VERY NICE

May I ask how much.

Des you have a PM....

Very nice indeed LLB ! That spoiler looks good as well , i notice its not the standard WRC upgrade !

Nice wheels indeed - I'm not sure I've ever seen 19" wheels on anything before - I wasn't even sure if tyres got any thinner than 40, but clearly they do because the evidence is wrapped around your alloys. As it happens the new VW wheels on my car are also made by OZ, for VW. It seems like OZ make some sh** hot wheels. :D

Very Nice :D:thumbup:

Hmmm....19's. I had 17's on the Astra and they looked huge, but they just look normal on the Octavia...

Methinks i'll be grabbing some overtime and purchasing some new wheels in the not to distant future ;)

Did you meassure the weight of the new wheel with tyre and

compare to your previous set up?

Is the car slower to accelerate now?

/Eric

Tart! ;)

Actually LLoyd, they look very nice.

What width are your new wheels? 8J (8 inches wide?) or larger?...and have you tried your car with a full complement of passengers in it?....if so , was there still no rubbing on the arches?

  • Author

They are 8J and no I haven't tried the car with a full load of passengers. I don't normally have that many people in my car but I suppose I'll have to try it soon and see what happens. However, the shape of the rear arch suggests that it won't rub?

There isn't a lip on the rear arch they are pretty flat this should allow the wheel to travel further up before any rubbing takes place?

Your new wheels look f'ing awesome.

That is all.

Very nice. We only get 16" as standard over here. 17"

Very nice, i like the Speedline alloys on the wrc octavia, 18x8 road version.

Is the new 19" wheel / tyre set-up much bigger than what the vRS normally comes with? I can't use that gearing percentage site due to being on Netscape, but 225/35 R19 sounds a fair bit bigger than what they come out the factory with - I could be wrong, and would like to be corrected. In the picture they look brilliant, and in no way oversized for the type of car. Wonder what tyres I'd have to wrap around those wheels to get them on my Fabia ( About 10 profile I think :D ) That would be really elastic band like..
