Red door LED always on

Featured Replies

The red LED next to the drivers door lock button is permanently on, whether the car is locked or unlocked or whether the ignition is on or off.

All electric windows and the remote locking work fine.

does this mean anything and can it be sorted?

cheers andrew

My first thought would be a short somewhere, maybe water ingress :(

It is a sign of trouble. I would imagine VAG Com will show a fault. My guess would be moisture in the wiring connector in the drivers door as stated above.

I had the same fault, it told me the rear wiper fuse had gone

I would get it on Vag com as i am having headaches with my electrics at the moment (my red drivers door led wont even come on)

I also suspect water somewhere.

Keep us posted on how you get on.

I shut my seat belt in the door the other day. bugger!!! with a crunch!!!

This has happened to me. Skoda Mechanic says the sensor is in the lock mechanism and needs to be replaced. I got a second opinion from another mechanic I know - he said the same thing. door mechanism need changing. I have the red puddle light on (so pulled it off for now) and dash door open signal is on.

I've noticed the red LED is always lit in my vRS now, sure it wasn't always like that. It still pulses when the car is locked but it's always on at all other times too. No other problems are apparent and all is working OK. Is it worth getting it looked at for this alone?
