Recommend me a good insurer for the VRS

Featured Replies

Hi

looking for recommendations for a competitive insurance company/broker

just getting quotes ready before buying an 03 Octy VRS :)

i'm an experienced driver 41 year old with 9years + claims free driving but have 0ncb as I have not run a private car in that time as I use a company van and a classic mini which do not qualify for ncb :(

so far have tried elephant.co.uk who want £550 comp and adrian flux £465 comp

any recommendations appreciated

thanks

Direct line or Privelege (more or less the same company) but quotes are reasonable online.

You can get a letter from your company to say you are claim free ..this may help a lot

thanks will give them a try  - maybe best if i phone them to explain bonus situation

If your keeping it standard and not modifing it i would try more than for a quote.

Try Chris Knott Insurance, a lot of people on this forum use them. I also have an 03 Octy Vrs and my insurance costs me under 400 quid fullly comp. Admittidly I do have some NCD but I'm only 25. Good luck with the hunting!

your company car use can be used as no claim driving you need a letter from your work stating that you drive the vehicle and have had no claims and bobs your uncle...

It's a matter of finding an insurer who is willing to accept this as bonus. So far two insurers have advised me that driving a company van does not qualify for ncb..........being a named driver under a company car scheme would qualify

Same age as you m8, clean liscence and 10 years ncb, all mods declared...£340 fully comp with Chriss knott

Directline are good for a standard octavia vrs don't insure mods tho ;) (for people under the age of 25)

Privilege have always quoted me well. Not sure how they stand for introductory NCD though.

NFU Mutual might be worth a punt as I think they may offer you introductory NCD for your claim free years in your company car.
