What a lovely car with an even better colour.

Did you get a free pair of sunglasses with the wheels, can't see the pics any more but I can still see the wheels.

Those wheels are pimptastic! ;)

Seriously though, are they staying or going?

Quinten

Very nice indeed , I actually thought those wheels would look worse than they actually do , they are not too bad , are you still getting rid of them? Also I see your car has headlamp protectors fitted , were they on when you got it or did you have to pay for them?

the weels are ok just get them recoated and different coulor. It a lot cheeper tham new ones

car looks great btw

Very nice! Congrats - see you around no doubt :D

I'm trying to find somewhere local (pref Bucks but will consider anywhere in the SE) to get my wheels done in another colour (if you can call Anthracite another colour!). Anyone know of anywhere?

Congrats nice looking car - Great looking paintwork - just goes to show every thing that glitters isn't gold

Enjoy your drive

John

TaviaRS had his wheels recoted this colour, seen the wheels and the finish looks excellent- see this thread for details:-

the companies site is :-

I change the colour of my bike wheels regularly but the Black vRS needs silver or chrome wheels to set it off.

Just my opinion (and that of the Style Police!)

Thanks all, I'm still grinning from ear to ear after todays (en)joy-ride on the most windiest roads in my area. What a superb car it is to drive! Anyone know any jobs up in Scotland? I fancy a bit of commuting now ;)

Although I'm almost used to wheels, they are definately going. Wednesday the 7th is when the dealer booked it in, so until then I'll drive around like a pimp ;)

The headlamp protectors were on there when I bought it, so I have no idea how much they are.

Glad to see you are enjoying your car!! About your 'Subaru' alloys , what are the dealer going to do with them , will they swap them or have them re-powder coated silver? ..... and if its the latter how long will you be without your car , as i would think doing that will take a good couple of days?

PS its ironic to think that Scooby owners would pay extra to have gold alloys on their car!:D

Quinten, congratulations! Nice set of, erm, wheels! ;)

According to the dealer it will take one day and it is done by another company (hence the 2 week waiting time) who specialises in this. I was offered a loan car for the day, but as I only enjoy my car for 2 minutes in the morning and 2 minutes in the evening (driving back and forth to the trainstation) I told them that I'd just cycle (eek!) instead for that day. After all, the loan car could never match the vRS :D

I've got 4 brand new silver RS wheels - I'd be prepared to do a 'deal' with cash coming my way.

I would maybe use the gold 'Christmas Tree decs' on my track days.

Let me know

Chris, I've send you an email...

Well, the car is in for its repaint job... No more being the laughing stock of the neighbourhoud for me :D

Oh, and the company doing the actual job is Wicked Wheels, who seem to be doing a great job (iirc reading on Scoobynet) at repainting alloys.

Can't wait to get home now... :drive1:

Q.

Quinten, what colour is the headlining on your car. Going by the A-pillar surround it is white. My black vRS has black A-pillar plastic and black headlining.Does anyone know why there is a difference.Regards

Dave, yours is the later model. Earlier ones had the light pillars and roof lining, 2003 models had black.

Must sound like a complete newby to cars, but without me resorting to google, where can i find this 'A-pillar' ?

My model is 2001 though, so I presume there are subtle differences between yours (2003?) and mine.

Q.

A pillars are the ones either side of the windscreen, the ones that go up from the bonnet to the roof

Q.

goes up althabetically from front i.e

front windscreen pillar - A pillar

door pillar - B pillar

Rear window pillar - C pillar

LOL

Well, that thought me to ask a stupid question ;)

Q.

PS. I'm going to be without my precious until Friday now... The dealer phoned up that the guy doing the alloys couldnt do them in one day as they were painted all around (well, duh!), so now it has been send to the 'bodyshop'...

Ive got the 'light' headlining and A pillar trim on my 2001 car , I thought the black headlining/trim came in with the 2002 model , ie late 2001 , im pretty sure ive seen a 51 reg RS with the dark trim...
