How does one find out the cars total mileage

I have a 08 vRS, but not maxidot, just the normal dashboard.

Try pressing the little black switch, or turning the engine off.

When the engine is running, breifly press the trip reset button and the display will change to the total mileage.

... or it will be displayed when you first get in the car, before you put the key in the ignition (works this way on Roomster without maxidot).
