Has anyone fitted the MDI (media interface) kit to their Octavia with RNS510? Checked the forums here but can't see any posts on the topic. I heard there's a cheaper kit available these days. Anyone got a guide or part list at all? Also interested to know if VAGCOM would be needed or not. Any help much appreciated.

Lots of the VW boys are fitting MDi.

Should work ok as far as I know as it uses CAN.

You may well need VAG-COM to 'tidy up' but I doubt there would be any drama's.

Thanks, yeah I saw some of the kits on the VW forums. Would there be any possible issue(s) with my canbus controller? I seem to remember that I was limited on the string length as I had an older part.
