it looks like a grommit that you push into a hole to stop liquid getting in or out or a screw cover possibly off a trim

Theres no marks on it, so doesn't look like it was dragged in on someones foot. I found it and put it in Jumbo box for safe keeping, but it was rattling about.

It looks like the cover off a nut. A smaller version of the cap from a windscreen wiper.
