Trip mileometer

Featured Replies

We've had our 58 plate octavia 1.9tdi for a couple of months now and are really pleased with it.

One thing I find mildly anoying is that the speedo always reverts to trip mileage when you start the car rather than the total mileage. If I press the reset button momentarily it switches to total mileage for the duration of that journey then reverts back to trip.

Anyway this can be changed to show total miles all the time? I've checked the manual and it doesn't cover this. PS it is the standard dash i.e. not maxidot.

Regards

Ian

You should have both..total mileage on the bottom left, trip on the bottom right

You only get both displayed on the Maxidot not the standard dash :) You might be able to recode using vag-com/vcds:)

Mine shows total when engine is off, goes to trip when ignition turned on, goes back to total if/when button pressed while engine running, and when turned off again.

I can't get it to show total all the time unless I press the button after firing up, and it will still go back to trip the next time I switch on..

Mine is the same, i want to always see the TOTAL mileage not the trip! I guess Skoda plan for to make you think your cars always like new:rolleyes:
