Golf Bluemotion

Any good?

economical. :D

Waste of time compared to the standard TDI 1.9 in my opinion.

You can get similar economy from the standard model and can get better kit levels for the same price.... A year old 1.9 TDI would easily ofset any 'savings'

Any good?

It looks like a marketing exercise to me rather than a proper alternative to a normal non-eco model, especially when you can get a Ford Focus Titanium 1.6TDCi for the same or less and don't have to do without things like AC etc and still get 60+mpg.

It's also a much newer engine which is also used in the CooperD. :)

Marketing pants.

Still has AC though iirc, im sure the one I worked on the other day did.

Might be the Polo that has a Bluemotion with and without AC...

At 12k I would hope it does have ac...lol.

Im not interested in one, I know someone who has bought one.

Pretty pants IMHO, when you can get a BMW 118d, more power, RWD, better mpg and less road tax..... i.e. a better performing, lower running cost, green package.

As has been said a pure marketing exercise which gives VAG an excuse to push out further the life time of the good old 1.9TDI across all models and all brands rather than invest in technology and new engines as BMW have done

Pretty sure the Passat Bluemotion is running the low power CR, newest technology we have.

Thought it was the 1.9TDI PD (105 bhp)? That's what my Dad was offered when he was looking for a new Passat over the past few weeks?

The one I had in the other day had a DPF on it for sure, and I didnt think they were running the PDF on the 105. However I could be wrong, know nothing about the specs until they go wrong and I have to figure them out.

Just been sad and checked the website, looks like they only do the lower power (110ps) 2.0 TDi in the Bluemotion Passat.

Likewise... it appears that the Passat Bluemotion is now aviliable in CR 110ps mode only(as you say), thank god my Dad ended up getting a 140nhp TDI DSG!

But I'm 99.9% sure when the Bluemotion Passat first came out 12 months ago it was a 1.9 TDI (105bhp)

Anyway, who really gives a ****... it's Christmas and we both have young daughters... more important things to think about than the VW Bluemotion range me think's !!!

Happy Christmas.... enjoy a Stella on me

I hear they are doing the caddy and transporter in bluemotion soon....?

up until november this year the passat bluemotion was a 105bhp 1.9 with a DPF, how sad is that?!
