Surround Sound Question

Featured Replies

As with all AV related questions there are 2 very important things to take in to account:-

Budget

Wife/SWMBO acceptancy

It depends on what these answers are before any meaningfull advice can be given.;)

Could I respectully add -Wife/SWMBO useability - ;)( if she has problems using it then as someon Dad'sArmy would say "it's doomed")

I bought a Yamaha AV package 63 a few months ago to replace my old JBL system that had bit the dust. I am totally impressed with the `bang per buck` using it with PS3/cable/media centre, it`s well built, looks great, sounds superb, inputs I needed, and in my budget. Also using it with the same 42" Toshiba you have too funnily enough. Whole heartedly recommended:)

I am still using the equivalent of that set up, but from about eight years earlier. The speakers look identical though.

Mine only does Dolby Digital and Pro Logic. Cost me around £300 when i bought it. I keep thinking every year about upgrading it and never get round to it as it still sounds excellent even though it doesn't have many features compared to what you get these days.

IMHO you can't go far wrong with Yamaha.
