Wiper Possible Electrical Failure

Featured Replies

Perhaps a mod might decide that a wiper fuse thingy might make a good sticky .

Fuse 15 - 10 Amp -wash/wipe system

Fuse 32 -10 Amp -rear window wiper

Fuse 41 -20Amp - window wiper

And since the Haynes diagram is :eek:copyright -Vrs Stu has a plan of the Fabia fusebox on his website .

I'm COMTEMPLATING doing a fuse map -e.g fuses by number and what they control for the furby - if done in word as an attachment -could that be considered breach of copyright ??

There is a sticky on them.

But thanks for listing the fuses.

Would the fusemap(in word ) be considered acceptable ?

Perfectably happy to do one - know what it's like to have electrical item out and have to trawl (as oppossed to troll ) through fusebox to find duff fuse .

Easy Diagnostic:

Wet nearside rear footwell? Push the nearside rear seat forward, unscrew the plastic clip next to the door opening and pull it forward. theres a connector behind there that will of popped off

Wet Boot? It'll be the Pipe under the boot trim (not sure how to remove this safely, try search

If its not those, pop the bonnet and get someone to use the rear jet while you look. If you see it jushing out under the car from the bulkhead inbetween the air box and the engine cover then its popped off there. One pipe should be dangling, the other will be poking out the bulkhead. Just push it together till it clips.

If thats not it, its under the nearside arch. Again, use the search someone else provided decent instructions for this!

Oh and you can get mini car fuses from maplin for about 50p:

Cheers Confused Cheese, Sorted it. It was the joint between the air box and the bulkhead, good picture of what you're looking for on Fabia-VRS.com, but joint is very awkward to get at. Fabia-vrs.com - Repairs to Rear Washer Pipe - Fabia and Octavia (A4 / A5). Figure 1. Jack

On topic of things like fuses and side/rear /tail etc bulbs - I find that the little back street bloke is usually cheapest (and quality is same as some large shops -but it don't come in a fancy packaging ) -one advantage is that a lot of these are old school ( suspect like some on here ) - and just like to help a customer (working for me ,found this works - customers like a bit of freebie ,and it don't cost )
