Hi all, new to the site.

I purchased a 99 octy 1.6 lx with a few problems.

1st the central locking does not work with the key on drivers door, it does the passenger door fine,

2nd, on start up after a few seconds of running, the car cuts out, start the car again it stays alive, this is if the engine is hot or cold, At idle speed engine seems to pulse slightly, you can see the rev counter moving up and down, and if you turn on fan, or lights, the revs even go lower with the pulse. Tested battery and its fine.

Through the gears the car has a hesitant little jump, But once your moving 5th gear speed it is perfectly fine.

3rd, When in traffic nose to tail, there is a great chemical burning smell, even smoke coming from underneath the top cover tray passenger side of the engine compartment, There is a small judder when lifting clutch in this enviroment, other times its fine,

just done a thousand mile round trip in the car, so cant be all bad:thumbup:,
