superb to vrs cr tdi swap

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Currently driving a superb 130 pd elegance as a taxi. She's done 200k now so will be looking for a change soon. Now the superbs been great, but i really fancy a vrs cr tdi. Only trouble is i've been a bit spoilt with the space and spec in the superb and just not sure how i'm gonna like the vrs? Any opinion welcome. Anyone changed from superb to octavia? Would love one with full leather but they seem a bit rare second hand.

Not used as a taxi....but I loved my Superb and would have one back in a flash.....at the moment I am running a octy II elegance and the first thing I missed was the space...and then the comfort, don't get me wrong the Octy is a good car and the VRS would go and does go like stink.......but my pd 130 superb had 170 horses somehow  and it was so much fun.

Best advice is to borrow a VRs for a test drive and make your decision from that......mind you the new superb has a few more horses in some models and I think it's every bit as good or better than the last one

Yep, my superb is about 170 bhp to:thumbup:. does make them go well. New superb still a lot of money, would prob look at last of mk 1 superbs before that. That is exactly my prob, the rear passenger space is great and the full leather etc makes it a great taxi. Just will need to change soon and is very hard choice. Also looking at a6 but would love to stay skoda really, it's just been so good.

I know James at Allams of epsom has a fabulous MK 1 Superb L&K with all the extras going for around £14,000 ...but it has the DPF so that may be a problem

Beat me to it, was going to suggest that.

As the OP car has done 200k on a 55reg, I think it might be used for Airport runs and long trips so shouldn't be a problem

Pictures don't do that L&K justice ...it looks fantastic in the flesh

Thanks guys. Yes, I do a mix of town and airport runs. Never really been that keen on the L&K, much prefer black leather. Not to worried about dpf. A friend runs a 57 plate 140 with dpf. Never had a problem with it. He is also a vw assist tech so covers audi, vw and skoda. Say's he goes to very few superbs with dpf problems. Far more a4's. Has all the kit to test a regenerate if need be anyway.I know i'd be more than happy with 140 pd superb, just some times you fancy a change!

Wouldn't recommend the vRS for Taxi use. I don't think the interior seat fabric will stand the strain. There have been several postings here about excessive seat fabric wear - and that's from priviate drivers...

If you're doing airport trips surely there's a chance to drive it a gear lower and higher revving every now and then to clear the soot.

Yeah, the seats are one thing that puts me off. Have looked at a few with the full leather option but that is quite rare. The leather in my superb has been great and still shows no real sign of wear. There is already 1 vrs being used as a taxi here in hereford, but then he used to use a mk5 Golf R32!!!!

I swear to god I am not paying these guys a wage!

But yeah the L&K V6 Tiptronic is a lovely car, I really like the Superb in Olive Green. Never saw that colour on a Superb before, it's actually come from a forum member. He part exchanged it for a new Superb Elegance 170CR.
