silicone breather pipes

Featured Replies

hi all

does anybody know if anywhere does the breather pipes in the engine bay in silicone? most of mine are bodged or split.

Im not sure which pipes you mean as some pipes Ive seen are plastic and some are rubber. Contact someone like Burton Power in Illford (Specialize in Ford's, but sell Samco stuff in meter lengths) or any Samco agent and ask what kits are available or what size pipe they sell seperately.

Why would you want it in silicone? Silicone is not best engineered to handle fuel or oil. It can just about cope with trace oil in things like intercooler connections, but from a design spec it shouldn't be used in heavily oiled or fueled environmnts. One of the reasons you don't get braided silicone oil/fuel lines, other than those which are lined with rubber so effecteively are only a silicone outer for show.

Greg.
